Some advice for when the time comes: Don't buy a computer 'off the shelf'.
You probably have an expert among your acquaintances who will be able to pick the components you actually need, assemble them for you, and will have fun doing so. (And then you can blow all that extra money on an overpriced Tower Chassis. ;) )

I would never buy a branded or just a ready-made computer, since the margin on them is very large, and there will be no sense from the hardware inside

Sorry for the double-post but I neglected to mention something and I didn't want you to miss out on it: The two main reasons why you'd want to ask a friend/acquaintance to assemble a machine for you would be because it will be significantly cheaper and you will get to enjoy it for longer.

An occasion, this can lead to silly situations. My current PC is over a decade(?) old and refuses to break down. If [Certain MMORPG] ever releases in the west, I "might" need to buy a new PC, because my current one wouldn't meet that game's minimum hardware requirements.
(Of course you never know for sure until you try - they might just have been cautious when the publisher revealed their requirements.)

Thank you very much for the advice! However, I understand computer hardware myself. but my limited finances do not allow me to build a computer that will satisfy me. I now have a laptop that has these characteristics:
Intel Core I7 3612QM
8 GB RAM DDR3.
and I miss it now.
now I have started to slowly build a new computer, although it still has a second-generation I5, 6 GB of DDR3 RAM. I hope that I can afford at least a second- or third-generation I7 processor

Well we hope for the best!! Maybe it won't bother the judges too much and you'll pass on to the next round, hopefully your laptop would work better

Thank you very much for the kind words, datboi7os! my friend's FL also used to work poorly, but at one point everything started to work much better. I hope that the same thing will happen for me, but it's better to update my computer, which I'm building now.

don't sweat it, bud. i've made songs for it that come out exactly how i want and they don't get past round 2. just don't give up, ok? next year will come around in no time at all.

Thank you so much for your support! It's okay if I don't make it through the second round, I didn't expect to be able to win.

Sorry about that. Still, fingers crossed!

Lucky you, you were actually able to get past round 1

This reminds me of a couple years back when I was trying so hard to make more EDM stuff but my AMD A9 processor couldn't handle anything at all; it really sucked. But hopefully you won't have a shitty laptop for long. You will eventually have a few hundred bucks to spend on a better laptop.

A good thing to do when your PC can't really handle CPU-intensive music is to figure out which plugins are taking most of the processor power and render the patterns. Then, in FL Studio you can disable the pattern and put the audio clip on top so you don't confuse anything. Not sure if you already do this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to tell you anyways.

If you lose the round, всё хорошо! There is always next year to work towards. Failure is part of progress, so it is ok sometimes to not work up to your own standards. For now, fingers crossed!

У меня тоже самое, братан. Мы в одинаковых условиях ахахах

Я всё-таки смог пройти в NGADM, посмотрим что будет в NGUAC.

Pretty safe to say i didn't make NGUAC round 2 either.

Honestly, NGUAC is a deceptively hard competition. Everybody knows that NGADM is a competitive competition, its literally called the audio DEATH MATCH. So in comparison NGUAC may seem easier to progress in, however what people fail to mention is that NGUAC is only 3 rounds, and still has an extremely high entry count, so there is a LOT of weeding out between rounds.

Also, competition songs are almost always going to have lower scores than non competition songs simply due to the fact that you are having people actually critically judging your song and not just rating based of casual enjoyment.

basically, don't sweat it too much :)

Maybe next time try to go for a simpler piece that still sounds good? I dunno, I’m not an expert

you can get a PC with 16 gb ddr5 and core i5 12 for 500 bucks

Dangggggg. Unfortunate hardware limitation, we’ll get it next year tho lol
