Yeah I can relate to this too. Unfortunately there is so much music out there and so little time for most people to listen to it all. Many musicians will inevitably fall out of sight. I think a good way to grow an audience is by creating an original soundtrack for games/animations/etc, but I understand if you don't want to do that. It's not for everyone.
